As nights grow longer, spooks and specters have more time to venture out into the night. Which, if you’re not careful, can give you quite a good fright! But at this time of the year….isn’t that half the fun!? There are so many places to explore in Delavan to get you into the Halloween spirit. Adult and kid fun has infested the city. 1. Come and decorate pumpkins or build a scarecrow to ward off the spooky spirits at Lake Lawn Resort’s Family Fall Festival. A weekend packed with fall-themed events including donut making, hayrides, Fall Harvest Buffet, movie nights, unlimited mini golf, lots of games and activities for the whole family! – October 5-7
2. Create fun Totems of Terror using your favorite Halloween characters to hold multi-seasonal flowers from A Glass of Art & More – October 6
3. Out on the edges of Delavan, lie the two realms of Dr. S. Cary’s Scream Park. Over 70 rooms of terror await those brave enough to endure more horror, more screams, and more evil. – Fridays & Saturdays in October
4. Learn the cultural significance of the Day of the Dead as you watch an honorary altar being made to memorialize the dead at Dia de los Muertos Ofrenda Presentation at Aram Public Library – October 17
5. Visit the House in the Wood’s make believe forest to meet a talking owl, a scaredy-cat skunk, a singing spider and other creatures of the forest at Halloween in the Woods . Fun for the whole family – October 24
6. Little witches, ghosts and ghouls should come donned in their finest costumes for bunches of candy, pumpkin decorating & more at Delavan’s Spooktacular – October 26
7. Spooky spirits and wicked brews will be paired with seasonal specials like Apple Pie Fries and Smoked Turkey Legs at Lake Lawn Resort’s Boos & Brews Halloween Bash. Expect to rock the night away at the adult costume party, so bring your spookiest for a chance to win the costume contest – October 26-27
8. To follow the Town’s trick or treating hours, bring your little monsters to the Town of Delavan’s Halloween Party at the Community Park pavilion for continued food, treats and games – October 28
9. Miniature ghosts, goblins, and witches will swarm the Delavan Post Office on Halloween Day for Delavan’s Goblin Walk to the Legion’s Haunted House – October 31
10. Of course, the greatest part of Halloween, Trick or Treat: Town of Delavan on October 28 & City of Delavan and Aram Public Library on October 31.
