City of Delavan to Host Historic 10-Day Celebration for America’s 250th Birthday
Community Partners Unite to Create Southeastern Wisconsin’s Largest Patriotic Celebration
DELAVAN, WI – The City of Delavan is proud to announce an unprecedented 10-day celebration honoring America’s 250th birthday, running from Friday, June 26 through Sunday, July 5, 2026. In collaboration with Visit Delavan, Delavan-Darien School District, local civic groups, area businesses, and enthusiastic city residents, Delavan will transform the traditional single-day Fourth of July observance into an extended festival of patriotism, community connection, and family entertainment.
“This milestone in our nation’s history deserves more than just a day of celebration,” said Delavan Mayor Ryan J. Schroeder. “We’re creating 10 days of activities that will bring together residents of all ages and backgrounds, along with visitors from throughout the region, to celebrate what makes America and Delavan truly special.”
A Celebration for Everyone
The ambitious program is designed to engage diverse audiences across generations and ethnic groups, featuring something for everyone: historical tours, lakeside concerts, family activities, patriotic contests, veterans’ tributes, and spectacular fireworks displays. This collaborative effort aims to establish Delavan as the premier destination and a home for residents throughout this Independence Day celebration in southeastern Wisconsin.
Community Partnership Makes It Possible
This extraordinary celebration is made possible through the dedicated partnership of Visit Delavan, Delavan-Darien School District, The Delavan-Delavan Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, the American Legion, Delavan Historical Society, Lake Lawn Resort, local businesses, civic organizations, and countless volunteers who share a vision of bringing the community together in celebration of American independence and Delavan’s unique spirit.
“We’re not just celebrating our nation’s 250th birthday, we’re strengthening the bonds that make Delavan such a special place to live, work, and visit,” added Alderperson Megan Armstrong-Garcia (Chairperson for Delavan’s 250th Celebration). “These 10 days will create memories that last a lifetime and showcase the very best of our community’s patriotic spirit and hospitality.”
Visitors and residents alike are encouraged to participate in as many events as possible throughout the 10-day celebration. Updates, schedules, and additional information as plans are finalized, will be listed on Visitdelavanwi.com
